Day 30: Treat Vegan Dracula Cupcakes

For cupcakes:

2 c all purpose flour

1 c sugar

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp ground nutmeg

½ tsp ground cloves

½ tsp ground cinnamon

1 c canned pumpkin

1 c canned coconut milk

½ c coconut oil

2 tsp apple-cider vinegar

1 tbsp pure vanilla extract

To make:

 Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line two cupcake pans with cupcake liners. Combine all dry ingredients and set aside. Mix wet ingredients in a separate bowl. Slowly blend into dry ingredients. Stir until blended. Pour batter into cupcake liners, about 3/4 full. 

Bake 18-20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool.

Vegan Cream Cheese Frosting:

1 container Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese

1/2 c soy margarine

2 c powdered sugar

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

1 1/2 tsp lemon juice

To make:

Combine margarine and cream cheese until smooth. Slowly add powdered sugar, then vanilla, and lemon juice. Mix until fluffy, frosting texture is achieved. 

Once cooled, frost and garnish with candy corn, gingersnap cookie, and all natural beet food coloring.

Day 24: Creepy Crawly Treats

Spider treats

You need:

Reeses Pumpkins (large an small)

Reeses Pieces 

Milk Chocolate Chips

Pretzels

To make:

Melt about one cup of chocolate chips in a small sauce pan. Break pretzels into 'legs.' Dip in melted chocolate and attach to Reeses bodies. With a small dab of chocolate attach Reeses Pieces eyes. Add another dab to create pupils. Refrigerate 5-10 minutes until solidified.

Day 21: Treat Halloween Candy Buffet

What a fun Halloween Candy buffet! How could this be considered anything but a treat!

Day 20: Pumpkin Seeds

For Salty Seeds: rinse seeds and place in plastic bowl with lid. 

Cover seeds with water and add 1-2 tablespoons of salt. 

Let sit for 24 hours.

Preheat oven to 250 degrees.

Drain seeds and pat dry with a paper towel. 

Coat with two tablespoons olive oil and salt to taste.

Spread on cookie sheet in a single layer and bake one hour or until seeds are completely dry. 

For Sweet Seeds: 

Raw pumpkin seeds cleaned and dried.

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Preheat over to 350 degrees. Toss seeds in a large bowl with melted butter. Sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Stir to mix throughly. Spread in an even layer on a cookie sheet and bake for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with another layer of brown sugar and cinnamon. Bake 5 more minutes and repeat, then an additional 5 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle remaining sugar and cinnamon and bake 10-15 minutes. Allow to cool and serve.

Day 17: Trick: That's a wrap!

The neat thing about this is that you can go as big or as small as you please. We didn't want our buyer to spend the whole day unwrapping her items, so we picked a few key items to wrap. :)

Day 16: Trick: Bozo and Happy ;)

These two jokers hid under Kassie's desk today and gave her quite the fright when she sat down to begin work!

Day 15: Treat: Candy Corn Poke Cake

You need:

Candy Corn

White Cake Mix & whatever your chosen mix calls for on the box

1- 14 ounce can of Sweetened Condensed Milk

Yellow & Orange Food Coloring

1 Pint Heavy Whipping Cream

1 Cup Sugar

To make:

Following the directions on the box, prepare white cake mix batter and divide equally into three different bowls. Using food coloring, color one bowl yellow, one orange, and leave the third white. 

Grease a 9 x 13 cake pan and spread the yellow cake batter evenly across the bottom. Put the pan in the freezer on a straight rack for 25 minutes.

Remove the pan from the freezer and carefully pour the orange layer of cake batter into the pan, gently spreading the batter creating and even layer that completely covers the yellow batter. Put pan back into the freezer for 25 more minutes.

Preheat oven to the temperature indicated on the cake mix box.

Remove the pan from the freezer once more and carefully spread the white cake mix batter over the orange batter, evenly.  Place the pan on top of the preheating oven for 1/2 hour to warm up the frozen batter. This will allow the batter to cook and rise evenly in the oven.

After 30 minutes bake according to the directions on the cake mix box.

Remove the cake from the oven once cooked and immediately poke holes throughout the cake with toothpicks or skewers.  Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake.

Place the cake in the fridge for at least 6 hours.

Once the cake has chilled whip beat the heavy whipping cream with sugar (according to desired sweetness) and spread evenly over the top of the cake. Decorate with candy corn and serve!

Day 14: Treat! Gold Canyon Candles

One extra sweet coworker, Jessica, brought us FALL! It's still super warm here in Southern California, so we're extra thankful for Jessica's thoughtful treat of fall scented Gold Canyon Candles. 

Day 13: Trick, Minty Fresh Oreo Spiders

To do: open Oreos and scrape out the filling (eat it if you want, we won't tell), and fill with white toothpaste. To mask the fact that the cookies have obviously been tampered with, add spider legs with black licorice laces. Serve!

Day 12: Treat in a trick!
